The report card will give you a general picture of your child’s progress to date in reading, writing, mathematics, communication, science, and social studies. It also includes scores for effort in all areas as well as in social/learning skills, PE, music, art, and world language.
The attached guidelines are used by your child’s teacher to determine marks on the report card. The instructional guidelines are included as a reference to give more detailed information about grade-level expectations and to help you more clearly understand your child’s level of performance.
Please note that a child’s level of performance [noted as a 1, 2, 3, or 4 on the report card] is not an ‘averaging’ of scores, but rather an indication of the child’s current performance level.
Please contact your child’s teacher with any questions.
